About VICBOSA

What is VICBOSA?

VICBOSA is the Vihiga County Boda Boda SACCO Society Limited — a member-owned savings and credit cooperative for boda boda riders and the transport community in Vihiga County. It helps members save together, support one another, and build lasting financial security.

What does VICBOSA help members do?

VICBOSA helps members build savings discipline, take part in welfare and community support, access financial education, and inquire about SACCO-approved asset financing opportunities. As a member-owned cooperative, every member has a voice in how the SACCO is run.

Membership & Joining

Who can join VICBOSA?

Membership is open to boda boda riders, transport operators, rider groups, corporate/group members, and stakeholders supporting the boda boda sector in Vihiga County. Joining is voluntary, and members are expected to follow the SACCO’s rules and values. Membership is subject to SACCO onboarding requirements and applicable policies.

How do I become a member?

Contact or visit the VICBOSA office, confirm the current membership requirements, complete the membership form, submit the required documents, and pay the applicable registration fee. You can then begin participating in SACCO savings, welfare, and member programs. See the Membership page for more.

What is the membership registration fee?

Membership registration starts from Ksh 500, subject to confirmation through official VICBOSA channels and current SACCO policies. Please confirm the current fees with the SACCO office before applying.

Savings & Deposits

Does VICBOSA support savings?

Yes. VICBOSA encourages members to build savings discipline through structured SACCO savings. Consistent saving helps members prepare for everyday needs, plan for the future, and participate actively in the cooperative. See the Savings page for more.

Does saving guarantee asset financing?

No. Savings may support a member’s SACCO participation record, but they do not automatically guarantee asset financing or loan approval. All credit and asset financing inquiries follow SACCO policies and approved procedures.

Asset Financing

What is asset financing?

VICBOSA supports eligible members with structured asset financing opportunities, including motorbike and other approved productive asset support. Access is subject to membership history, deposits, guarantors, SACCO policy, appraisal, approval, and available programs. See the Asset Financing page for more.

Who can inquire about asset financing?

Active VICBOSA members in good standing may inquire about current asset financing programs at the SACCO office. VICBOSA financial products are available to eligible members subject to membership status, savings/deposit history, guarantor requirements, SACCO policy, credit appraisal, approval by the relevant committee, and availability of funds.

Are rates, limits, and repayment periods published on the website?

No. Specific rates, limits, and repayment periods are not published on this website. These details are shared through official VICBOSA channels and are subject to current SACCO policy. All financial services are subject to eligibility, SACCO policies, approval, and available funds.

Financial Education

How can members learn about budgeting, saving, and responsible borrowing?

VICBOSA offers member-friendly financial education covering savings culture, budgeting for riders and households, responsible borrowing, SACCO responsibilities, and asset ownership readiness. Members are encouraged to take part through official VICBOSA channels. See the Financial Education page for more.
